Bird cakes

Making your own bird cakes are not only fun but they are a great source of energy for birds. Keep on reading to learn how to make bird cakes in only 5 easy steps!

What you will need:

• Bird seed

• Lard

• String

• Cookie cutters

• Bowl

Method:

1. Mix the lard and bird seed in a bowl.
2. Squash mixture into the cookie cutters.
3. Once all cookie cutters are filled but in the fridge for an hour.
4. Prise the cakes out of the cookie cutters once set.
5. Make a hole in the cake and thread some string through and hang up outside!

It’s as easy as that! Don’t forget to hang them somewhere you can see from indoors so you can admire your work being enjoyed by your garden birds.
