A new year has started and we wish you a very happy new year and that your garden brings you lots of joy thought 2020!
Here are our gardening jobs for January, this months all about cleaning and tidying.
• Protect – Use fleece to protect vulnerable plants from frost.
• Keep it tidy – Tody Flower beds, removing dead growth and leaves.
• Get mulching! – Start to Mulch fruit trees and roses.
• Keeping it clean – Wash a sterilise any greenhouses.
• More cleaning – Clean slippery decking and paving with soapy water or patio cleaner.
• Help your feathery friends – Winter can be a very tough time for wild birds so be sure to put water and food out for them.
• Ready, set, plant – Now is the time to plant bare-root rose shrubs, hedging and ornamental trees if the ground isn’t frozen.
• Get pruning – Prune roses when they are dormant.
• Grow your own – Buy you seed potatoes, onions, shallots and garlic bulbs.
