Celebrate National Gardening week, which was originally launched by the RHS to encourage all to get outdoors! Whether you are a keen gardener or just simply enjoy being outside, there’s still plenty you can do despite the delay in warmer weather!

The sun is predicted to creep out towards the later part of this celebrated week so let’s get prepared with all we need!

First of all, are you a keen gardener who loves tending to a variety of plants and veg or are you someone who just simply enjoys the use of their garden? This week celebrates both. The aim is to be outside enjoying a green space!

To make the most of growing plants and veg in the delayed warmer season you can simply help them with the use of greenhouses, tunnels and grow bags. All of which can be found on our website and in our stores. Take a look at just a few of these alternatives below.

To grow from scratch you can pick up a variety of seeds in store. These vary from hardy outdoor plants to more delicate varieties and of course fruit and veg which just keep giving and giving. A perfect piece to support them is our very own Growing Patch 3 Tier Greenhouse, only £4.99! There’s a range of sizes to suit the scale of your seedlings, plants and veg!

We also have all the tools, fertiliser and food necessary to get your plants off to a great start. Our Westland Bonemeal Root Builder is a completely natural fertiliser containing high levels of phosphates. This high-phosphate formula and the natural slow-release properties of bonemeal makes it ideal for use when planting varieties of young plants. More specifically our Levington’s Tomorite targets the growth of delicious tomatoes and is proud to be named the countries favourite tomato-based plant food. All plants are different which is why we have food and fertiliser tailored to a range of plants and their needs.

The week can be celebrated of course in other ways, enjoying the time outdoors socialising and entertaining with friends and family is a great excuse for anyone who loves their garden. For smaller gardens, a simple bistro piece is enough for a couple of you but for larger groups our 11 piece Hartwell set is perfect and great value for money.
