Water Lilies

Lilies are a beautiful addition to any pond. Their leaves shade the water helping to keep it clear, provide shelter for fish and reduce algae. Lilies like still water, so do not place near fountains or where water can splash on the leaves.

The depth for specific varieties is on the reverse of the label. Miniature lilies are best planted with the crown at least 10cm below the water surface to protect them from frost. Large lilies can go to a maximum recommended depth of 1.5m or more. If leaves rise high above the surface, remove the old ones allowing space for new leaves to lie down on the water surface.
