Johnsons Beetroot Moneta Seeds are a bolt resistant monogerm type, which means the seeds will need less thinning than others. Beetroot boasts a high nutrient content in few calories and adds a deep maroon colour to a variety of dishes. High in dietary fibre, this vegetable is perfect for salads, roasted or pickling. For a continuous crop throughout summer and autumn, sow every 2-3 weeks.

Root vegetables boast a host of colours and flavours and include carrots, radish, horseradish, sweet potato, turnip and beetroot. Their low rate of metabolism allows for a relatively long postharvest life. Thanks to their high water content, they are key ingredients for a low fat diet. This wholefood is well suited for all cooking options: grilling, mashing, roasting, frying and even in soups. Don't skimp on sunshine when growing them!
