Description

Details

A traditionally popular red flowered variety that sets easily and produces masses of stringless, fleshy pods for picking over a long period. Reliable and vigorous throughout the season giving excellent high yields.

Easy to grow and versatile, peas and beans make a delicious and nutritious addition to any meal. As well as being a traditional side, legumes also provide a terrific source of protein for a vegan diet. Peas and broad beans prefer cool conditions but need to be grown in full sun or partial shade. Short on space? Many varieties are well suited to growing in plant pots. Ideally you do not want to overcook either peas or beans, keeping just a touch of crispness.

Soil Type: Well dug, manured
Advice: In hot weather mist with tepid water in the evening to help the pods set
