Taylors High Yielding Maris Piper Maincrop Seed Potatoes 2Kg

The Maris Piper (Solanum tuberosum) is the great potato all rounder, the grand cultivar and the most common and robust member of the potato variety due to its high resistance against diseases and pests such as the Eelworm. The Maris Piper is grown more than any other variety in the UK and is otherwise known as 'The Chip Shop Potato.' Popular amongst supermarket chains for it's universally appealing fluffy texture and buttery cream flesh with a cracking crispy outer skin, the Maris is brilliant to use for roast potatoes, mash and wedges.

Characteristics:
When To Plant: We recommend that you start chitting / sprouting seed potatoes in the third week of February. This will give them four to five weeks to develop healthy sprouts just at the time when they are ready to be planted out in late March / early April.
When To Harvest: July Onwards
Soil Type: Prefers well-drained and loose soil
Advice: Water well in long dry spells
Disease Resistant: : Golden Eelworm
