March is here and spring is upon us!
• Now is the time to start planting your summer flowering bulbs outside such as Allium, Oriental Lily and Begonias.
• Plant early potatoes, this can be done mid-March with second earlies a few weeks later.
• Start your engine – March is the time to start mowing lawns again.
• Weed and mulch borders.
• Start preparing the ground for laying turf.
• Sow tomatoes, chillies, sweet peppers and aubergines in pots indoors or in the green house.
• Battle the slugs! Protect your perennials with slug pellets.
• Be sure to apply weed and feed to lawns then scarify.
